GUEST BLOG: KATIE REUS

Thank you so much to the folks at Long and Short Reviews for letting me blog here today!

So…guilty pleasures! I have them. A lot more than I should admit. But I do have some that I’m willing to share.

1. Books, books, books! I don’t think this should really be a surprise. Or more specifically, my Kindle is my ultimate guilty pleasure. I buy way more books now than I used to because of instant gratification. I love not having to worry about shipping or constantly checking my mailbox for a delivery. Since I live in a small beach town with a pitiful bookstore (their romance selection makes me very sad) I have to drive to the next town over for a ‘real’ bookstore but now I don’t have to bother leaving my home to shop.

2. Chocolate. But not just any chocolate. Ghirardelli milk chocolate bars filled with caramel OR the dark chocolate bars with orange filling. Omg, melt in my mouth deliciousness! I know it’s full of a billion calories and has no value but that’s what makes it a guilty pleasure. I absolutely love them.

3. The Vampire Diaries show on the CW. I’m obsessed with it! Damon = hotness. I just want Elena to get over Stephan and get it on with Damon. It’s like a soap opera at night with incredibly good looking people and sometimes so much drama it’s too much to believe (and yes, I’m saying this about a show with vampires as lead characters). Each episode they throw something else into the mix that has me wondering how they’ll get out of this new predicament. The conflict and drama are what make the show so awesome and it’s definitely one of my favorite guilty pleasures.

What are some of your guilty pleasures? One reader who comments on the blog today will be randomly selected to win a print copy of Alpha Instinct (US eligible only), the first book in my new paranormal series from NAL/Signet. WINNER ANNOUNCED here in the blog comments section tomorrow, 2/18/2012, after Noon Central time. Please leave your email address so I have a way to contact you. Good luck and thanks so much for stopping by!

Fear has a scent. So does desire…

Ana Cordona has been a strong leader for the lupine shifters who survived after all the males and most of the females in her pack were mysteriously poisoned. As tough as she is, with no Alpha male, the pack is vulnerable to the devious shifter Taggart, who wants to claim both their ranch and Ana as his own. When Connor Armstrong comes back into her life, promising protection, it’s almost enough to make Ana forget how he walked out on her before—and reluctantly accept his offer to mate.

The minute Connor sees Ana again, it reawakens a raw hunger. He must have her for his bondmate—his wolf cries out for it. But his human side knows he must proceed with caution because of their complicated past. If he is to truly have her body and soul, he must go beyond his burning desire and win back her heart. Whatever it takes, he is determined not to leave her side again.

But Taggart and his rival pack are not their only enemies. A human element in town is targeting shifters. Their plan not only threatens Ana and Connor’s future, but the lives of the entire pack…
A little about me: I’ve been reading romance since a young age—ever since I discovered my mom’s hidden stash. Luckily the addiction stayed with me into adulthood. I write paranormal romance and sexy romantic suspense for Carina Press, Harlequin Nocturne, and NAL/Signet Eclipse. I think dragons are gorgeous, Debby :)

I've never heard of that blog, Catherine, but I love the title! I'll be checking it out soon!

Since there were only two entries random.org didn't have to calculate very hard to pick a winner. *g*

Congrats Debby, you won a copy of Alpha Instinct. You didn't leave your email so please contact me at katiereus @ gmail .com (no spaces) so I can get your mailing info.

Thanks for stopping by!
